Account Executive, Local Government Sales

Role: Account Executive, Local Government Sales at Symbium

Reports To: CEO

 Symbium is looking for an accomplished AE with a passion for selling its disruptive SaaS tech to local government planning departments, to partner directly with our CEO and Director of Business Development to design & deliver sales initiatives, meet and exceed sales quotas, provide critical product feedback to our Product Managers, support the growth of the sales organization, and meet the agile requirements of a small but growing venture-backed org. We're looking for a self-starter who has the drive and tenacity to initiate and manage hundreds of outgoing contacts, hold discovery calls and demos, respond to RFPs, and close deals with direct support from the CEO. An ideal AE is a talented and hungry team-player who is driven by exceeding quotas and will provide focused feedback on sales initiatives, gap analysis, and iterations that improve sales outcomes, and confidence. Subsequently, the candidate should assist with the training of other sales reps through role-play and real-time observation.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Deliver detailed sales plans for enterprise SaaS based on revenue benchmarks and quotas.
  • Drive complex 6+month sales cycles across multiple opportunities from top of funnel to close and strive to exceed quotas.
  • Ability to drive incremental add-on business into strategic named accounts.
  • Initiative to understand the strategic competitive landscape and customer needs so we can effectively position Symbium solutions as clear choices.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and timely customer, pipeline, and forecast data.
  • Establish OKRs to track sales efficacy; work with the CEO and Product Managers to further develop and maintain sales OKRs, dashboards, and reporting to drive improvements and revenue growth.
  • Collaborate with the CEO to determine key skills and gaps to focus on for existing sales initiatives and new sales hires.
  • Collaborate to react quickly to any decrease in metrics, putting a plan into place with stakeholders to make immediate improvements.
  • Actively and continuously learn and stay informed about the latest messaging, product capabilities, roles, and new systems and processes.

  • Passion, enthusiasm, and success with new business sales who wants to be part of the most disruptive venture-backed SaaS company in the government space.
  • 5+ years delivering and exceeding sales results in a quota carrying role and designing revenue projections.
  • Experience cultivating mutually beneficial relationships with strategic partners and alliances.
  • Confidence in leading a sales initiative with a small but growing venture-backed startup.
  • "Front of Room" experience, with engaging presentation skills. We are looking to build an energizing sales team, who can make materials come alive!
  • Proven ability to simplify complex information into an easy-to-understand format.
  • Ability to prioritize and plan effectively with a demonstrated ability to work well under pressure, thrive in a fast-paced environment and stay flexible and adaptable through growth and change.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a priority of responsiveness internally with team members and externally with prospects and customers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills - know how to form successful relationships, collaborate and work across functional teams at various levels, internally and externally.
  • Experience in enterprise sales to local (city and county) government is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent.
